Trustees

As a registered charity, Social Enterprise and company limited by guarantee, First Steps is governed by a Charity Board of Trustees, which includes parents using our services, and local professionals. The Board’s membership reflects key stakeholders in the local community including local public services, local businesses, independent consultants, voluntary organisations, and schools. Trustees therefore bring a wide range of individual skills and experience to the Board.

Advisors/commissioners from Health and the Early Years and Extended Services section of Bath and North East Somerset’s Children’s Services attend some of the Board meetings in a non-voting capacity.  Currently these services are represented by:

Debbie Forward - Senior Commissioning Manager, Early Childhood Services, Bath & North East Somerset Council

and 

Penny Hazelwood - Head of Health Visiting, Children's Services, Sirona Care & Health
