Why Leave a Gift in your Will?
By remembering First Steps (Bath) in your Will, you can help even more young children in our communities get the best start in their early years through quality childcare and learning. After you have provided for your family and friends, any gift—large or small—will make a real difference to the children and families we support. Thank you for considering this meaningful way to contribute to our mission.
How to leave a Gift in your Will?
Whether you already have a Will or would like to write a new one, it is easy to include a gift to a charity you choose to support. Once you've taken care of those closest to you, you can then choose whether you leave a proportion of your estate or a specified amount, depending on your preference and personal circumstances. Just 1% of your estate could make a huge difference to a charity close to your heart.
To leave a gift to First Steps, you can speak to your solicitor or, if you don’t have one, you can ask trusted friends and family for recommendations. You can also find an accredited local solicitor at https://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk or you might prefer to look at Free Wills Month (https://freewillsmonth.org.uk) which runs in March and October each year.

How does a Gift in your Will to First Steps make a difference?
“First Steps is truly part of my family’s story. I attended as a child, and my mum worked there. My son also spent his early years at First Steps, and thanks to their wonderful care and support, he made a smooth and successful transition to school. He’s now happy and thriving. We’ve all benefited immensely from the nurturing environment at First Steps.”

A Gift in your Will would help us to support future generations of young children, and plan for the future so we can meet emerging needs and build on community strengths. You'll be leaving a significant legacy: ensuring that more children get the early years care, learning and support they and their families need to give children the best start in life.
